You will see from this report that a number of clubs have still not paid their 2014 affiliation, it was proposed that it may be advisable in the future to set up an invoicing system, Richard to investigate.

Finance and Sustainability Sub Group: Michael Coker

We met with Saucony on 15 January, and had a very good discussion with regard to extending the current Hampshire Athletics business partnership. Following the meeting we were asked to submit a formal Business Partnership proposal.

Additionally a new sponsor have expressed interest in Primary Schools Cross Country. A meeting has been organised for early February 2015.

Cross Country Championships 3 January 2015: Pam Rogers

Once again we were able to host a successful Championships, despite the weather conditions. As almost everyone said to me though, "It's not as bad as last year." We had a record entry of 917, and entry from clubs not previously seen in our Championships. Richard will no doubt be able to give you the figures [see Treasurer's Report], but I understand the finances are in good shape.

Many thanks must go to our sponsors, Saucony who provided branded tape for the course and flags for the finish as well as Start/Finish banners. Their franchise 'Up and Running' set up a shop, which seemed to do brisk business throughout the day, and our friend Colin came down from Birmingham and also had a good day. There were many excited young athletes sporting the 'Day-glow' coloured T shirts.

Thanks too to Jon Osman, Malcolm Price and the runners from Eastleigh Running Club for setting up and marshalling the course. Thanks to Colin for aiding and abetting them in their quest to find me an extra 400m for the U11s. It worked! Christine issued numbers, programmes and safety pins, and along with Mary helped me with the presentations. Thanks for that, as we had no spare tables, people to hold things away from the mud and hand them to me when needed was a bonus. Our officials again worked hard to give Richard and Dave the correct information to produce results. Many thanks to Richard for his work on the on-line entry form, fielding queries from me at all hours and forsaking AFC Bournemouth to produce his usual faultless results.

Thanks must go to Dave Yetton, who provided the tent for the officials' refreshments. It was invaluable, and I hope people appreciated the effort.

At the end of the day, the course was broken down, stakes brought in, flags dismantled rubbish picked up and apart from the sea of mud and a few bin bags by a tree, you wouldn't have known that number of people had been there.

Track & Field Championships: Richard Dean, Mike Williams and Christine Weeks

2015 Multi Event Championships, Quad Kids Events, 3000m and Mile Races: 4 May

2015 Track and Field Championships: 23 and 24 May

Track booked for the above dates at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth.

It has already been decided that unfortunately no guest athletes can enter, but with regards to Veteran Athletes competing in field events, after a long discussion, it was agreed that if they have the necessary Hampshire qualification, they will be accommodated.

Team Managers

Latest reports are published on the website.

Joint Technical Officials Report: Eileen & Terry Williams

We hope that Pam Rogers was happy with the Officials Appointments for the Cross-Country Championships and we have sent thank you emails to all of the Officials involved especially as we understand that the conditions were not good for high heels!

We met with Michael Coker during the week for our annual planning meeting and the Officials 'Get Together' has been booked for 20th March at Basingstoke Hockey Club with a Guest Speaker from UKA or British Athletics whichever you want. Once again thanks to Michael and Sports Hampshire and Isle of Wight for their sponsorship which we hope will continue.

We are intent on getting our availability letters out within the next 14 days but this will depend on us receiving the dates for the 2 Saucony Grand Prixs and also whether there will be 3000m and Mile races at the Multi Event day. Also we need confirmation of the dates.

Finally there are Officials Courses being held in Poole on 8th March and both ourselves and Alison Friend will be Tutoring plus a Timekeeper but we are unaware who this is at present. We will be circulating Clubs within the next few days. Hopefully some clubs who seem loath to put people forward to train as Officials may react!!
