Saucony and Hampshire Athletics announce Partnership Deal
Saucony and Hampshire Athletics have announced a three year partnership agreement which sees the UK's fastest growing running brand join forces with its local county athletics association.
The agreement, which is set to commence from 1 February 2012 was announced at the Saucony Hampshire Cross Country Championships which took place on Saturday 7 January at Dibden Purlieu, near Southampton.
A record number of younger entries and a 20% increase on 2011 numbers provided the perfect start to the deal.
Jonathan Quint, Marketing Manager Saucony UK said:
"Saucony UK has strong connections with Hampshire. Our head office has been based in the county for over 15 years, so it was a natural move for us to join forces with the county association.
"Hampshire Athletics is rightly very proud of its credentials in terms of elite performance as well as a healthy and proactive club system. Today's numbers show how popular the sport is in the area and demonstrates exactly why we are so pleased to support Hampshire Athletics."
Colin Goater, Hampshire Athletics Chairman said:
"A partnership with Saucony is great news for the sport of athletics in the county. Having a specialist running brand join Hampshire Athletics as our first major sponsor is a real boost and we are very excited about the sport as we start 2012."
