Aviva ESAA English Schools' National Cross-Country Championships 2012
17 March at RNAS Merryfield, Ilton, Somerset

Hampshire Schools competed in the Aviva ESAA English Schools' National Cross-Country Championships which were held at the RNAS Merryfield airfield at Ilton, Somerset.

The boys' teams finished in second place overall, and the Intermediate Boys' team were awarded the Newcastle 900 Trophy for the team with the highest-placed 8th runner (not including the team in first place). The girls' teams finished seventh overall, just a few points behind fifth position.

Individually, Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, Farnham & District) and George Butler (Southampton AC) both finished just outside the medal positions in fourth place in the Senior and Junior Boys' races respectively. And Katie Rowe (Guernsey Island AAC), representing Guernsey Schools, took second place in the Junior Girls' race, in which Hannah Knapton (Winchester & District AC) achieved the best finish for the Hampshire Schools Girls' team in sixteenth position.
