ESAA National Cross-Country Championships 2019
16 March at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds

Compared with previous years, Hampshire Schools had a disappointing day by their standards at the New Balance ESAA Cross Country Championships.

The best team result was the bronze medals won by the Senior Boys' team, where Lachlan Wellington finished the race in fifth place. Isabelle Hinkley was the only other Hampshire runner to achieve a top-ten place, finishing fourth in the Intermediate Girls' race, though the Intermediate Girls' team could only finish nineteenth. The Junior Girls' team finished in eighth spot, led home by Annie Mann in thirteenth. Across the age groups, Hampshire and Vectis finished fourth in the Boys' Aggregate Trophy and sixth in the Girls' Aggregate Trophy.

Other notable top-50 results were:

  • Senior Boys - Jacob O'Hara (16th)
  • Intermediate Boys - Liam Dunne (39th)
  • Junior Boys - Dan Shattock (16th)
  • Junior Girls - Rose Chesterfield (40th). Summer Woodhead, representing the Channel Islands, finished in 37th place.
