It was a great day for Hampshire Athletics with the county taking 5 team trophies, 4 individual 1st places and 6 athletes taking 2nd places.

Senior Women

Senior Women's Race, Sarah Holliday and Louise Warwick battling for positionThe Hampshire women did England proud. The race turned out to be a tussle between Sarah Holliday (1998 Coutances winner, pictured left 249) and junior girl Louisa Warwick (wearing 251) in her first senior race, who held on to Sarah for two laps, in fact leading in the first lap for some periods of the race.

In the third and last lap Sarah pulled away to finish strongly in 1st place, Louisa taking a very credible second place.

Sue True also had a fine race to finish in 4th place, with Kathryn Bonham on her debut for Hampshire earning her selection with a good run to finish 5th.

The team trophy went to Hampshire with an amazing 12 points - a convincing team victory.

Benjamines Girls 1997/98

Hannah Jennings ran well to take 2nd place, with Maddie Donald on her debut French race finishing 5th, Klara Lyne 6th, Emily Clark 7th, Imogen Emmett 8th and Jessica Ellwood 22nd.

The team trophy was won by Hampshire with a total of 20 points.

Benjamins Boys 1997/98

Scott Barker on his French debut did well to finish in 2nd place, with Jack Messenger not far behind in 3rd position. Rory McCallum was 6th followed by Will Stafford 10th and Sam Appleton 11th.

The team trophy was won by Hampshire with a total of 21 points.

Minimes Girls 1995/96

What a performance! 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places to Hampshire.

1st place went to Georgia Morris on her first French run. 2nd place with another fine run went to Rosie Upton who was also on her French debut run.

Laura Seaman finished in 3rd position, with Emily Alexander-High not far behind in 4th position.

Team trophy went to Hampshire with an incredible 10 points.

Minimes Garcons (Boys) 1995/96

Good running by Stuart McCallum secured him 2nd place closely followed by his team mates Luke Holman 3rd place, Alexander Ruddles 4th, Callum Upton 5th place with Jack Lynch 9th place.

Team trophy went again to Hampshire with a total of 14 points.

Cadettes Girls 1993/94

A fine strong run from Jade Bowling who won the race, taking 1st place medal. Daena Bennett had a good run taking 2nd place with ease. Jessica Maw finished in 5th place with Sarah Lawson completing the team in 9th position.

Team trophy went to Hampshire with a total of 17 points.

Cadets Boys 1993/94

Chris Neil showed his class to take 1st place with Chris Adams 7th, Jack Walker 9th and Stephen Blunt completing the team in 16th place.

Hampshire were the 2nd team with a total of 33 points.

The team trophy was won by French team Manche Athletic Centre Sud 1 with 25 points.

3-stage Relays

This event was won by the Hampshire Cadet team with strong runs from Liam McGarrigle, Chris Adams and Stephen Blunt.
