Mahamad Mahamed (Southampton) won the Senior Men's race at the Saucony English National Cross-Country Championships at Harewood House, Leeds. The winning margin for last year's Under 20 Men's Champion over Leeds City's Emile Cairess was a single second.

Meanwhile, current Hampshire Champion Henry McLuckie, running for Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, finished third in the Under 17 Men's race.

Aldershot, Farnham & District won three team medals: a gold medal in the Under 15 Boys' race, repeating least season's achievement, and silver medals for both the Senior and Under 20 Women. Basingstoke & Mid Hants also finished in bronze medal position in the Under 20 Women's competition.

A total of 11 Hampshire-affiliated clubs were represented in the event.
