AVIVA Sportshall South East Regional Finals 2010Well done to all of the athletes who represented Hampshire at Burgess Hill on Sunday 14 February. The Under 15 Girls were convincing winners with 631 points, over the Surrey team (557 points). Tanisha Clayton (Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC) was the overall individual winner. The Under 15 Boys' team suffered from missing one or two key athletes, finishing 6th of the 7 teams, the Channel Islands team taking victory. An outstanding performance came from Dudley Mason (The Mountbatten School), setting a new national record in the Speed Bounce with a score of 99. The Under 13 Girls placed 5th with Kent, Oxfordshire and Berkshire taking the first three positions. Most notable performance for Hampshire was Sophie Merritt in the Shot Put. Last but by no means least, the Under 13 Boys' team scored 634 points to win their competition ahead of Surrey (606) and Oxfordshire (556). A big thank you must go to Michael Coker and his colleague for excellent management of the teams, and to several HAA Officials who travelled to support the event.
